Can you migrate my Mailman 2 list to Mailman 3?
Yes we can. If your Mailman 2 list is using some form of Mailman 2.1xx, then our migration script will be able to migrate your list settings, members and archives.
Can I use my own domain or subdomain with your service?
Yes you can. Since Mailman is access via the web and email, a domain name is needed. So if you have control of a domain name that is NOT being used with another web or email service, then you can use it with us. If it is being used with another hosting service, then we recommend the use of a subdomain (e.g. list.yourdomain.com) that is based off of the domain name that you wish to use. It is also possible to use a subdomain for web access and a domain name for email, as long as that domain name is NOT being used with another email provider.
Most of our clients uses a subdomain with our Mailman service.
What is needed to migrate my Mailman 2 list to your Mailman 3 service?
To migrate a Mailman 2.1 list, we would need each list’s config.pck file (members, settings) and mbox file (archives). Those are typically found in the following locations:
config.pck:
/mailman_install_dir/lists/listname/
listname.mbox:
/mailman_install_dir/archives/private/listname.mbox/
Your current hosting provider can assist with retrieving those files. If you use cPanel to run your Mailman 2 lists, then doing a full cPanel backup will contain the above files.
Do you recommend upgrading to Mailman 3 from Mailman 2?
Mailman 3 is the version Mailman users should be using now. Mailman 2 is no longer being developed and Mailman 3 has a long future ahead of it. We have vastly improved the user experience of Mailman 3 with our Affinity and Empathy apps. They are a great improvement over the default apps of Mailman 3: Postorius and Hyperkitty.
Can I try out Affinity and Empathy?
Yes you can. Just contact us to request a trial list to use. That will give you access to Affinity and Empathy.
Due to privacy restrictions, can you host my Mailman 3 list in Europe?
Yes we can. We have a data center in London and Frankfurt. Just let us know of your need to be in one of these locations when you place your order.
Do you offer a non-profit discount?
We do not. Our list pricing is VERY affordable already. If our Mailman 3 pricing is too much for your budget, then you can order our Mailman 2 service which is lower in price.
Can we schedule a demo of Affinity and Empathy?
Most definitely. We can use Zoom to do a screen share and walk you through the features and functions of Affinity and Empathy.
Do You Provide DKIM Signing?
Yes we do. We can configure all list traffic from your list domain to be signed with a verifiable DKIM signature. Using DKIM does require the client to set up the necessary DNS (TXT) record for the DKIM signature to be verified by other 3rd party providers such as Gmail and Yahoo. We do provide assistance for getting that DNS record set up.
